Dr. Colbert, originally from Galway, qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1995. During her training she took part in a dental overseas voluntary elective in Sri Lanka (DOVE). She also took part in an AIDS study carried out in Uganda and Malawi in 1992.She developed an interest in halitosis after qualification which led to further training in Leuven, Dental University Hospital, Belgium. Since then, Dr Colbert has offered diagnosis and treatment to all halitosis sufferers. Dr. Colbert has published several articles, dedicated mostly to Halitosis, in the Irish Medical Times.
Dr. Colbert is also a general dental surgeon. She maintains rigorous continuing professional development standards with postgraduate training courses including Endodontics, Implantology, Aesthetic dentistry, Da Vinci Smile Design, Facial aesthetics and Laser dentistry.
Along with running The Fresh Breath Clinic dental practice, Dr. Colbert works part time as a clinical supervisor in the Dublin Dental Hospital.
She is currently a board member of the Dental Council and is an ongoing member of the Irish Dental Association, Medical Protection Society and the Irish Dental Council.
